


Police have arrested Khaled Masud, vice-president of the banned organization Chhatra League, after receiving information about a secret meeting in the Andarkilla area of Chattogram city. The operation was conducted at around 11:30 pm on Monday (January 5).
Police said that the Kotwali police station conducted a raid in the area based on a secret tip-off. Although Khaled Masud was arrested from the spot during the operation, other leaders and activists of the banned organization with him quickly fled after sensing the presence of the police.
The arrested Khaled Masud is a resident of Akubdandi area of Boalkhali upazila. He is the son of the late Shawkat Ali.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of the Kotwali police station in Chattogram said that information about the involvement of the arrested person in the activities of the banned organization was found in the initial investigation. He is being brought to the police station for questioning. After the investigation, action will be taken against him according to the law. Operations are ongoing to identify and arrest others who fled the scene.
