A prisoner sentenced to two months in a mobile court in Kashimpur High Security Central Jail has died.
The deceased Jahangir Alam (38) was a resident of Section-11, Block-C, Line-5, MCC Camp of Pallabi Police Station in Dhaka.
Senior Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail Mohammad Mamun said that he was taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital after he felt dizzy on Monday (December 1) morning. Later, the doctor on duty there declared him dead at 11 am.
He was sentenced to two months in a mobile court in a drug case. Later, he was sent to Dhaka Keraniganj Central Jail. A month ago, he was sent to Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur.
Gazipur Metropolitan Konabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Papon Hossain said that after the post-mortem report, the body has been sent to the morgue of Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy. His body has been handed over to his relatives after the autopsy.
