BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee said, the current generation and the common people do not like inflammatory speeches, shouting, and noise. They expect respect from political parties and politicians. For this, politicians need respect.

He said these things at the reception of students who obtained GPA-5 in the H.SC examination at the Lakshmipur Town Hall auditorium on Sunday (November 23). He was present as the opening speaker at the meeting jointly organized by Alpha Star Foundation and Lakshmipur Society.

Anee Chowdhury said, once upon a time, before August 5, the fascist Sheikh Hasina was in power. They used to oppress and torture the common people of the country with different ideologies. At that time, we held processions and meetings. We made angry speeches and speeches at meetings and gatherings. For democracy, the fall of fascists and votes. Now Hasina has fled to the student-public movement. Now people no longer expect such statements from politicians.

He further said that drugs are a social disease. A social movement must be built against it. However, it is not possible for me to do it alone. It is possible to build a drug-free society with the cooperation of all in society. And this must be done. Because, terrorism, theft and robbery are associated with drugs. The number of those drug dealers is not large either.

Addressing the students, Anee Chowdhury said that they have to participate in co-educational programs. In addition to Bengali-English, they have to be proficient in other languages. To build a career in the international arena, proficiency in Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese languages along with Bengali and English is very necessary. It does not take much time or effort to become proficient in these languages. Because, there are various coaching centers. They teach the languages online and directly. In addition, they have to learn freelancing. Nowadays, not only in the city, but in the village, many young people are becoming self-sufficient by freelancing.

In the speech of the chief guest, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed said, those who have come here to receive the reception. All are talented. Your hard work and the contribution of your parents and teachers are the reason for this success. Remember, after achieving success, you have a responsibility to yourself, your family, society and the state in pursuing higher education.

He also said, there are some problems in our education system. The education we receive, many times cannot be applied in real life. Education must be life-oriented. Which is useful for society, state and human development.

Laxmipur Society founding member and BFF vice-president Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy presided over the function, and Dhaka University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed was present as the chief guest. The meeting was moderated by Alpha Star Foundation Chairman Kamrul Hasan and was attended by the founding principal of Lakshmipur Government Women's College, Professor Manjurul Haque, principal of Lakshmipur Government College, Manjurur Rahman, former principals Main Uddin Pathan and Helal Uddin, and many others.

At the end of the program, the guests presented crests and awards to the students who achieved GPA-5.
