A press conference was held in Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat on Monday (October 12, 2026), to brief stakeholders on the nationwide data collection process under the government’s Family Card programme. The event was organised by the upazila administration and the Upazila Social Services Office at the Upazila Parishad conference room.
Participants were briefed on the initiative to help families become self-reliant through the Family Card programme, as well as the field-level data collection process required for its implementation.
Those present included Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Saiful Islam, Upazila Social Services Officer Sukanta Sarkar, Kaliganj Reporters Club President Nur Alamgir Anu, Press Five President Rahebul Islam Titul and Press Club Vice-President Hasan Abdul Malek.
Officials and employees of the upazila administration, journalists from various print media outlets and data collectors also attended the press conference.
