


Dhaka, 2 September 2026: With a view to making the payment of holding tax, trade license fees and other designated service charges easier, faster, safer and more convenient, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU signing ceremony was held on (2 September), where separate agreements were signed with five banks, including Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation, attended the ceremony. On behalf of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC., the MoU was signed by Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba), Director of the Bank and Additional DIG, Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust and Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin, Managing Director of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC.
Under the agreement, citizens within the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation will be able to pay their holding tax, trade license fees and other designated service charges through all branches and sub-branches of Community Bank, as well as through its online banking platform.
The initiative is expected to make the payment process for various municipal revenues and service-related charges more convenient, faster, safer and time-efficient for citizens. By providing access through banking channels, the initiative will also reduce the need for citizens to visit city corporation offices solely for making payments.
The agreement is expected to contribute significantly to the expansion of digital payment services and technology-driven citizen services, while creating a more convenient and integrated payment ecosystem for residents of Dhaka South City Corporation.
Among the senior officials of Dhaka South City Corporation present at the ceremony were Khoybar Rahman, Additional Secretary & Chief Executive Officer and Jonaied Kabir Shohag, Chief Revenue Officer & Deputy Secretary, along with other senior officials.
Senior officials of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. present at the event included Dr. Md. Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking & Head of Business (Branch); Mamun Ur Rahman, Head of ADC & Head of MD’s Coordination Team; Zahir Ahmed, Head of Cards; Rabeya Parveen, Head of Brand & Communication and Tohinul Islam, Cash Management Team, along with Jemima Farhin, Farzana Jitu and other senior officials of the Bank.
Through this partnership, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. and Dhaka South City Corporation expect to establish a more integrated, secure and technology-driven payment system for municipal revenues and service charges. The initiative is also expected to support the ongoing digitalization of citizen services and contribute to making DSCC's revenue collection process more efficient and modern.
