Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Committee Reconstituted

The government has reconstituted the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust to strengthen its operations and improve oversight.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has been appointed chairman of the new committee. The restructuring was carried out under Section 13 of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust Act 2018.

The committee will oversee the Trust's overall activities implement laws and board decisions, prepare and execute development plans monitor ongoing projects, review financial audits, and set future strategies. The government expects the new committee to make the Trust's welfare and development programmes more effective.

The committee also includes State Minister for Liberation War Affairs and Dhaka-6 MP Ishraq Hossain, Kishoreganj-4 MP Md. Fazlur Rahman, Comilla-6 MP Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury, and Noakhali-2 MP Zainul Abdin Faruk.

The Secretaries of the Finance Division, the Ministry of Industries, and the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will serve as ex-officio members. The Managing Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust will act as the Member-Secretary.
