On the third day of the District Administration Conference, Deputy Commissioners (DCs) received stern directives to intensify drives against illegal land occupation and curb risky, illegal migration.

The day’s sessions covered critical sectors including defense, the Liberation War, technology, power and local government.

Civil-Military Coordination

The Ministry of Defence emphasized strengthening civil-military relations. Key projects discussed included establishing a Meteorological Office in Barguna and improving waste management in the Dhaka Cantonment. Brigadier General (retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, Advisor to the Armed Forces Division, stated the government aims to make the armed forces more people-oriented, echoing the philosophy of late President Ziaur Rahman.

Preserving Liberation War History

State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraq Hossain urged DCs to expedite the "Birnibas" housing project for veterans and finalize the list of heroic freedom fighters. Meanwhile, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher sought DC cooperation in recovering grabbed canals, managing urban parks and mitigating waterlogging.

Cyber Security & Technology

ICT Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam addressed concerns regarding cyber security and the modernization of the postal department. Discussions centered on establishing fact-checking centers, controlling harmful websites, and ensuring the safety protocols of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant are clearly communicated to the public.

Power & Energy Goals

To meet the target of 5,000 MW of solar power, Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku directed all DC offices to install solar panels within the next three months. DCs were also tasked with ensuring uninterrupted power for irrigation.

Preventing Human Trafficking

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam called for a social resistance against human trafficking. She urged DCs to raise grassroots awareness to stop citizens from falling victim to "brokerage cycles" and emphasized the need for vocational training to encourage skilled, legal migration.

Strengthening Local Government

LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir described local government as the "foundation of democracy." He instructed DCs to work directly with the public, reminding them that the people are the ultimate owners of the country.
