5 Additional IGPs including Naval Police Chief on compulsory retirement

The government has sent five Additional IGPs of Bangladesh Police, including Naval Police Chief Kusum Dewan, on compulsory retirement.

The other four officials are:

  • Police Headquarters Additional IGP (OSD) Abu Hasan Muhammad Tariq

  • Police Headquarters Additional IGP (OSD) Mohd. Abdul Alim Mahmud

  • Police Headquarters TR Md. Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan

  • Rajshahi Sardar Principal Additional IGP Md. Tawfiq Mahbub Chowdhury

The retirements were announced through five separate notifications signed by Senior Secretary of Police-1 Branch of the Home Ministry, Manjur Morshed Chowdhury, on Monday, March 9.

According to the notifications, the officials were retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). They are entitled to retirement benefits as per the rules. The retirements are effective immediately.
