Chattogram Range Drug Drive: 255 Arrested, Large Stash Recovered

Police arrested 255 individuals and recovered large quantities of narcotics during a special 24-hour anti-drug operation across 11 districts within the Chattogram Range.

According to the Bangladesh Police and local reports, the targeted raids yielded 30,210 pieces of Yaba, over 81 kilograms of marijuana,115 liters of brewed liquor, 50 Tapentadol tablets, 48 bottles of Indian liquor, 3 bottles of foreign liquor and 51 bags of heroin. A total of 55 separate criminal cases have been filed in connection with these recoveries.

In addition to those arrested and processed through regular judicial channels, mobile courts sentenced 141 individuals to various terms of imprisonment and collected Tk 28,850 in fines.

Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury confirmed that law enforcement conducted roughly 250 separate operations during the drive. Authorities emphasized that these intensive anti-drug campaigns will continue across the region to curb narcotics trafficking and abuse.
