Students from Dhaka College and Ideal College in Dhaka have clashed again, just one month after reaching a police-brokered "peace pact" aimed at ending their long-standing rivalry. The dispute escalated quickly, involving vandalism and street chases.

The clash began on Tuesday morning around 8:30 AM with a dispute and scuffle between two students from the respective colleges.

Around 9:30 AM, students from Ideal College vandalized two Dhaka College buses in the Science Lab area.

In retaliation, Dhaka College students came out, leading to back-and-forth chases and counter-chases that extended towards the area in front of Ideal College.

The New Market Police Station deployed personnel around noon to bring the volatile situation under control.

Police Chief (OC) Mohammad Ayub stated that Dhaka College students were escorted back to their campus, and Ideal College students were confined inside their campus. Traffic is reportedly running normally.

The current violence breaks a verbal "peace pact" adopted on November 9, which was initiated by the New Market Police Station to curb frequent violent disputes between the two institutions.

Dhaka College, Ideal College, and City College are known for a fierce, long-standing rivalry that often erupts into street brawls, causing major public distress and traffic disruption in the New Market area.
