


During a review of the quality and management of healthcare at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, a doctor had an altercation with the Director General of Health. At one point in the altercation, Director General of Health Dr. Md. Abu Zafar ordered the expulsion of the doctor.
On Saturday (December 6), a verbal altercation occurred between the Director General of Health and a doctor during a hospital inspection. A video of the incident went viral on social media, creating widespread discussion and criticism. In the video, both parties can be heard talking in angry tones.
The doctor involved in the altercation is named Dr. Dhandeb Barman. He is said to be the casualty in-charge of Mymensingh Medical Hospital. On Saturday (December 6) morning, the Director General of the Directorate General of Health visited Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as the chief guest for a seminar on the recent progress and challenges in the ongoing treatment of diseases related to the bladder and reproductive system of children.
Before participating there, he visited the hospital and raised questions about the quality of service, emergency department management, patient management and staff attendance. At this time, Casualty In-charge Dr. Dhandeb Barman expressed his anger over the limitations of his department, manpower shortage and the pressure of performing his duties.
At one stage, a heated exchange of words began between the DG and the doctor. Later, the Director General of the Directorate General of Health, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Zafar, ordered the expulsion of Dr. Dhandeb Barman.
