The bus is affiliated with Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. The fire occurred in front of Dhanmondi LabAid Hospital at approximately 7:30 PM. The reason for the fire is currently unknown.

No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident thus far. Rashed Bin Khalid, the duty officer at the Fire Service control room, confirmed that two units were dispatched to the location after the alert was received.

Inspector (Operations) Abdul Qayyum from Dhanmondi Police Station stated that a police team was also sent to the site. "The bus was severely damaged, so the university's name may only be discerned once the fire is completely extinguished," he remarked.
