A fire broke out at an Apex showroom in Dhaka's Dhanmondi on Thursday morning and firefighters have been battling the blaze for over an hour without bringing it under control.
The fire started around 9:45am on the second floor of the six-storey building on Road 27 which houses the Apex showroom according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Khaleda Yasmin the duty officer at the Fire Service control room said six firefighting units were dispatched to the scene. "Four teams are already working while the remaining two will arrive shortly" she told.
Traffic Inspector Rafiqul Islam was managing traffic near the site said one side of Road 27 was closed following the outbreak of fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities are expected to investigate once the blaze is brought under control.
