


Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan recently spoke at Rajshahi University, calling her participation in the July student movement "one of the most important and best decisions" of her life, driven by a sense of moral responsibility against injustice.
Speaking about her life and career at the "Acting, the Actor, and My Life" discussion, the acclaimed actor detailed her journey from a Lux-Channel i Superstar 2006 winner to a globally recognized artist. She admitted her early years were marked by confusion and working "only to survive" after personal hardships and marriage.
A major turning point was her 2018 legal battle for her daughter's custody, which resulted in a landmark verdict granting her full guardianship. This fight, she said, initiated a profound personal transformation. Badhan also candidly discussed her struggle with chronic depression and borderline personality disorder, crediting therapy for helping her rediscover her true self and find passion in acting again. This led to her critically acclaimed, "life-changing" role in "Rehana Maryam Noor," which took her to the Cannes Film Festival.
The actress, who has since starred in international projects like "Khufiya," expressed future interest in screenwriting and creating stories that inspire change for a better world for her daughter.
