


Heroic freedom fighter Hasina Kabir, 78, passed away at her residence in the Purba Saralia area of Morelganj, Bagerhat, around 12:00 am on Saturday (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
She was laid to rest with a state guard of honor on Sunday (June 21) at 11:00 am, following her Namaz-e-Janaza at the Morelganj Model Mosque premises. An eight-member police team, led by Sub-Inspector Masum Billah, formally paid tribute on behalf of the local administration.
Attendees included her only son, Sarwar Ejahan Roni; former Upazila Freedom Fighters' Association Chairman Shah Alam Babul; Upazila BNP President Shahidul Haque Babul; former municipal BNP President Abdul Majid Jabbar; and several other local political and freedom fighter command leaders. People from all walks of life gathered to place wreaths on her coffin and pay their final respects.
Hasina Kabir actively participated in the 1971 Liberation War. She was the wife of the late S.M. Kabir Ahmed Madhu, who was also a freedom fighter and a former chairman of the Morelganj Upazila Parishad. Following the state honors, she was buried at her family graveyard.
