Dr. Nabil Ahmad, a prominent activist and leader during the July 2024 uprising, has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Central Convener Committee of the Jatiya Biplobi Parishad.
The appointment was officially announced on Saturday through a press release signed by the organization’s Assistant Member Secretary, Abdus Salam. The decision was approved by party Convener Khomeni Ihsan on Saturday afternoon.
According to the official statement, the appointment aims to strengthen the party's organizational capacity by integrating emerging young leadership into the political and intellectual spheres of the country.
Dr. Nabil Ahmad has been involved in anti-fascist movements since 2018. During the July Revolution of 2024, he played a pivotal role in leading the student movement at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College.
Reflecting on the appointment, Jatiya Biplobi Parishad Convener Khomeni Ihsan emphasized the importance of generational transition in politics. "To determine the political future of Bangladesh, it is imperative to bring the new generation to the center of leadership. We believe that idealistic, talented, and grassroots-connected young leaders like Dr. Nabil Ahmad will inject new momentum into our organizational strength and political activities," he said.
In his new role, Dr. Nabil Ahmad expressed his commitment to the party's ideological foundation. "I will work with the utmost dedication to implement the ideals, goals, and programs of the Jatiya Biplobi Parishad, Insha'Allah. We remain committed to standing by the people in the struggle to establish a political culture based on independence, democracy, justice, and national dignity," he stated.
The Jatiya Biplobi Parishad, an initiative under the Muslim Nationalist Democratic Party, was established on December 16, 2024, at the Dhaka University Central Mosque. The platform aims to build a broad political and intellectual movement comprising young activists, the educated middle class, professionals, and senior citizens.
The party’s core political philosophy advocates for the historical, cultural, and political resurgence of Bengali civilization—from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal—with the ultimate goal of establishing a just, democratic, and sovereign state.
In the post-July revolution political landscape, the Jatiya Biplobi Parishad has gained significant attention through a series of political programs, seminars, and outreach efforts, successfully placing the concepts of "Muslim Nationalism" and the "Civilizational Identity of Bangladesh" at the forefront of the national political discourse.
