At approximately 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 31, 2026, an Al-Barka passenger bus en route from Dhaka lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in the Swad area of Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur. Local authorities and first responders are on the scene.

Multiple casualties have been reported, though the exact number of fatalities and injuries is still being officially verified by local police and hospital sources.

Sergeant Hasan Uddin of Bhanga Highway Police Station confirmed this information.

Helal Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga Highway Police Station, said that a bus of Al-Barka Paribahan carrying some passengers on its way back from the Eid pilgrimage overturned and fell into a ditch. It is learnt that 10 people were injured in the incident. Three of them have been taken to the hospital for treatment. None of them were seriously injured.
