A violent head-on collision between two CNG-powered autorickshaws resulted in one death and seven injuries on Monday night, January 5, 2026. The accident occurred in Madhyam Jagatpur village, Daganbhuiyan Upazila, Feni, specifically on the Taltoli-Chowdhurihat road.

According to eyewitnesses and local reports, the primary cause of the crash was a large pile of sand left on the road for a private house construction project. The sand obstructed the drivers' views, making it impossible to see oncoming traffic and leading to the direct collision.

The deceased are Zakir Hossain (55), a resident of Sonagazi Upazila. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health Complex.

Seven people sustained serious injuries, including four members of the same family. Two of the victims are four-month-old infants.

After receiving primary care at the local health complex, four victims were transferred to Feni General Hospital for advanced treatment due to the severity of their conditions.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daganbhuiyan Police Station, Fazlul Azim Noman, confirmed that an investigation into the crash is underway. Authorities emphasized that legal action will be taken against those responsible for placing the sand on the public road, citing the illegal creation of a public hazard that led to this tragedy.
