Assistant Engineer Dies After Being Hit by Reckless Bus in Daganbhuiyan

Junaid Kawsar an assistant engineer of Daganbhuiyan Municipality, died after a bus struck his motorcycle on the Feni–Noakhali regional highway in Daganbhuiyan upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred in the Bangla Bazar (Pakistan Bazar) area while Junaid was returning to the municipality office after lunch, according to local sources.

Witnesses said a speeding bus belonging to Badhon Paribahan hit his motorcycle from behind, throwing him onto the roadside and leaving him seriously injured.

Local residents rescued him and took him to a nearby hospital. As his condition worsened, doctors referred him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he died at around 9:00 pm while undergoing treatment.

Daganbhuiyan Municipality Administrator and Upazila Executive Officer Md. Shahidul Islam confirmed the incident. He said the victim's family was informed immediately after the accident, but Junaid passed away before they could reach the hospital.

News of his death cast a shadow of grief over the municipality and the local community. Many residents expressed their condolences on social media.

Municipality officials and residents described Junaid Kawsar as a sincere, responsible and dedicated officer who had served the municipality for several years.
