Faridpur Press Club Election, Kabir-Pial-Shipan Parishad Winners

Kabirul Islam Siddiqui has been re-elected as the president of the Faridpur Press Club, while Mahbub Hossain Pial and Mofizur Rahman Shipan have been re-elected as the general secretary and joint general secretary, respectively.

In the press club election, Chief Election Commissioner MA Salam said that as there were no contesting candidates for the 18 posts of the Faridpur Press Club executive committee as per the election schedule, the 18 candidates who had submitted their nominations for the said posts as per the schedule have been declared elected unopposed.

The Election Commission said that the last date for submission of nomination papers was December 12, and since no one except Kabir-Pial-Shipan Parishad submitted their nominations, they were declared elected. Those elected unopposed are Kabirul Islam Siddique, editor and publisher of Daily Nagorik Barta, Mahabur Hossain Piyal of local daily Fatehabad as general editor, Mofizur Rahman Shipon of Now Television as joint general editor.

Also elected as vice presidents are Sheikh Monir Hossain of Gazi TV, Nurul Islam Ananju of Dinkaler and Ashrafuzzaman Dulal of Sangram Patrika, Shahadat Hossain Titu of Channel i as finance editor, literary and cultural editor (Bhorer Kagoj) Bibash Dutta, information technology and library editor (Ajaker Saradesh) Muizzur Rahman Khan, sports editor (Ajaker Patrika) Shraban Hasan.

The executive members of the committee are Manik Das (Bhorer Runner), BK Sikder Sajal (Somayo TV), Ruhul Amin (Boishakhi.com), S.M Rubel (Kumar), S.M Zahid (Buddhijuddha) and Nirmal Kumar Biswas Nayan (Jago News).
