The local district administration demolished three unlicensed brick kilns in Ramgati Upazila of Laxmipur on Wednesday as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal topsoil burning and environmental pollution.

The mobile court drive led by District Administration Executive Magistrate Sohana Khandkar, targeted three facilities: Messrs Bhai Bhai Bricks and MSB Bricks in Char Afzal Union and RMJ Bricks in Ramdayal Union.

During the operation, authorities used heavy machinery and high-pressure water streams to break the furnaces, dismantle kiln structures and render all production equipment unusable.

The enforcement team included members of the Bangladesh Police, Battalion Ansar, the Department of Environment, the Forest Department and the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

District administration officials confirmed that none of the three units possessed valid environmental clearances or operational licenses. They emphasized that enforcement operations against illegal brick kilns will continue across the district to curb air pollution and protect agricultural lands.
