7,000 Yaba Tablets Seized, Drug Dealer Arrested in Banshkhali

Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer with 7,000 yaba tablets in Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram. A motorcycle allegedly used to transport the drugs was also seized during the operation.

The suspect was identified as Md. Yakub Ali, son of Mohir Uddin of Mithipur Union in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur.

According to police, Yakub was arrested on Friday (August 28) morning after officers set up a temporary checkpoint on the main road near the Chambal Chhara Bridge in Banshkhali.

Banshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Robiul Haque said police stopped and searched the suspect at the checkpoint and recovered 7,000 yaba tablets from his possession.

A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Banshkhali Police Station, the OC said.
