A bus caught fire on Wednesday evening at the Dolaipar Para entrance to the Mawa expressway in Dhaka, adding to a concerning series of vehicle fire incidents across the capital on the same day.

The blaze, reported near the Dolaipar Yan Xin Restaurant, prompted the Fire Service to dispatch two units at 6:38 pm. Firefighters successfully brought the flames under control, and no casualties were reported in the incident. While police and fire officials attributed mechanical faults to two other vehicular fires that day a police pickup in Kakrail and a microbus in Uttara bystanders at the Mawa expressway scene claimed the bus was intentionally set on fire.

Wednesday saw at least four separate vehicle fire incidents, Mawa Expressway Entrance: The bus fire at Dolaipar, Mirpur: A Century Transport bus caught fire outside Sony Cinema, Kakrail: A police pickup was engulfed in flames, Uttara: A microbus caught fire.

The differing accounts regarding the cause of the Dolaipar and Mirpur bus fires highlight the ongoing security concerns in Dhaka, contrasting with the confirmed mechanical faults in the police and microbus incidents.
