


The first meeting of the 13th National Parliament’s parliamentary committee was held today to streamline legislative activities. The session began at 11:00 AM on Saturday (March 28) in the Cabinet Room of the Parliament Secretariat.
Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni presided over the meeting. Eleven committee members attended, including Deputy Leader of the Opposition Dr. Abdullah Taher.
Sources indicate the committee discussed various administrative priorities, specifically addressing the housing challenges faced by Members of Parliament.
Following this session, the ruling party is scheduled to hold its parliamentary meeting at 4:00 PM today in the Parliament Building. A key agenda item is expected to be the review of 133 ordinances issued by the BNP parliamentary party during the interim government. A special committee report on these ordinances is due by April 2.
The next session of the 13th National Parliament resumes tomorrow and is slated to continue until April 30. Since the inaugural session on March 12, the Secretariat has focused on normalizing and accelerating parliamentary functions. Today’s meeting marks the formal commencement of committee-level operations.
