DMTCL Announces Special Metro Rail Schedule for Ramadan

Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Company Limited has announced a special schedule for the Metro Rail in line with the office schedule on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

This information was given in a directive signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam on Tuesday (February 17).

According to the notification, the first train from Uttara North Station towards Motijheel will depart at 6:30 am and the last train at 9:30 pm. On the other hand, the first train from Motijheel to Uttara North will depart at 7:15 am and the last train at 10:10 pm.

During the morning and afternoon rush hours, the headway of the train (the gap between one train after another) has been kept between 5.30 and 8 minutes. It has been informed that during normal times, this gap can be a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes.

For the convenience of passengers during the month of Ramadan, drinking water will be allowed in the station area and on the train. The prescribed safety rules must also be followed when carrying iftar items and cleanliness has been maintained at stations and trains.

The notification further states that this schedule will also be effective on Saturdays and other public holidays.
