Popular actor Niloy Alamgir has returned to work after a seven-month break, resuming the shooting of a new television drama.

Niloy recently came back to Bangladesh with his wife Tasnuva Tabassum and their daughter on February 19. He began filming just two days after returning.

The actor had been staying in the United States since September last year. In November, he and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter named Rushda Maimanah, who was born in the US. Niloy shared the news with fans on social media at the time.

The current drama is being directed by Nazmul Rony, though its title has not yet been finalised. Shooting is taking place in North Dakota.

Speaking about the project, director Nazmul Rony said Niloy has a strong and loyal audience in the drama sector. “I want to present a social message through comedy. The story is light-hearted and entertaining, and I believe viewers will enjoy it,” he said.

Actress Nilanjana Neela is acting opposite Niloy in the drama, though their characters are not portrayed as a couple.

After completing this shoot, Niloy is scheduled to work on two more dramas. In those projects, Jannatul Sumaiya Himi will play his on-screen partner. According to the director, Niloy will remain busy with shooting until Eid.

Despite being abroad for several months, a number of Niloy’s previously recorded dramas—such as Mayaban Deer, Other Man, No to Live, Father’s Age, and Ghar Leader—continue to be aired.
