Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is setting new box office records at the start of 2026. His latest film Dhurandhar 2, released on March 19, is performing exceptionally well across India.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has broken multiple records within just six days. By Tuesday, its domestic net collection reached approximately ₹576 crore.
Despite being a weekday, the film maintained strong momentum. Morning shows recorded over 30% occupancy nationwide, and Tuesday alone added around ₹57 crore to its total.
Within a week, Dhurandhar 2 surpassed several major Hindi film records. It overtook Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan (₹543 crore) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (₹556 crore). It also moved ahead of Gadar 2 (₹525 crore) and the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 (₹511 crore), which had held strong since 2017.
The film became the first in Hindi cinema to cross ₹500 crore within five days. Its opening weekend collection stood at ₹454 crore, including ₹43 crore from paid previews. Monday’s earnings of ₹65 crore marked the highest-ever Monday collection for an Indian film.
Trade analysts say the film is likely to enter the ₹700 crore club soon. The first installment of the franchise earned ₹1,300 crore worldwide. Experts now believe Dhurandhar 2 could challenge the lifetime global record of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (₹2,070 crore).
The film features an ensemble cast including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. This spy thriller continues to draw audiences back to cinemas nationwide
