The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) has announced a further reduction in gold prices in the local market. The price of 22-carat gold has dropped by Tk 2,683 per bhori, bringing the new price to Tk 2,62,265.

In a press release issued Saturday (March 14), BAJUS stated that the revised rates took effect at 10:00 AM on Saturday and remain unchanged today, Sunday.

The price adjustments for various gold categories are as follows:

  • 22-carat: Tk 2,62,265 per bhori

  • 21-carat: Tk 2,50,367 per bhori

  • 18-carat: Tk 2,14,617 per bhori

  • Traditional gold: Tk 1,74,785 per bhori

BAJUS attributed the price cut to a decrease in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the domestic market. This follows a previous reduction on Friday (March 13), when the price of 22-carat gold was lowered to Tk 2,64,948.
