BGBA Announces Executive Committee Election Results 2026-2028

The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) successfully held its Executive Committee elections for the 2026–2028 term on Saturday. The transition marks a continued commitment to transparency and democratic governance within the sector.

The voting took place at the Uttara Club’s UCB Lounge. Out of the total membership, 513 general members cast their ballots to elect eight candidates from a contested pool of 15. An additional 13 candidates were elected uncontested in accordance with association bylaws.

The election was monitored by representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Leaders from major trade bodies, including BGMEA, BKMEA, and BTMA, were also present to observe the proceedings.

The Election Board praised the disciplined participation of the members and announced that the official final results will be published on January 17, 2026.

Newly Elected Leadership (2026–2028) The preliminary lineup for the BGBA leadership includes: President: Md. Abdul Hamid Senior Vice President: Mohammed Zakir Hossain Vice President (Admin): Md. Roman Mia Vice President (Finance): Md. Emdadul Huque Miazi The board also includes five Vice Presidents and twelve Directors who will focus on advancing the interests of the garment buying house sector in the global market.
