


Sharadiya Durga Puja will be celebrated at 355 temples across Pabna this year, according to information shared at a preparatory meeting held to ensure smooth, peaceful and festive celebrations.
The meeting was held at the conference room of the Pabna Deputy Commissioner’s office on Sunday morning, October 4. Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam chaired the meeting.
Speakers at the meeting said Sharadiya Durga Puja is one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community. They urged everyone to remain alert and play a responsible role to prevent any untoward incident or disorder anywhere in the district during the festival.
The authorities will take necessary measures to ensure security at Puja mandaps and maintain normal law and order, the speakers said. They also urged members of Puja celebration committees to follow government directives.
Leaders of various temple management committees in the district, representatives of political and social organisations, district administration officials and members of law enforcement agencies attended the meeting.
