


A gunfight between two rival groups on the premises of the Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Court left at least five people injured on Sunday morning.
Two of the victims sustained bullet wounds. The injured include local Swechchhasebak Dal leaders Mohiuddin and Roni.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 AM. According to police, Liaquat Ali, a member and General Secretary of the Jhilonja Union BNP in Cox's Bazar Sadar, had arrived at the court with his associates for a scheduled legal appearance. Witnesses allege that members of an opposing faction opened fire on them as they were leaving the court building.
The sudden gunfire triggered widespread panic among lawyers, litigants, and bystanders, causing severe tension across the court arena.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ahidur Rahman confirmed that law enforcement acted swiftly following the clash. "Three individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the shooting," he said.
The injured have been rushed to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital for treatment. Additional police forces have been deployed to maintain order in the area.
