Road Development Projects in Porsha

Construction work on three HBB roads was inaugurated in Porsha upazila of Naogaon on Wednesday morning.

Naogaon-1 constituency MP Mostafizur Rahman formally inaugurated the projects at around 11:00am. The roads include a 630-metre stretch from Khatipur Main Road to Nasim Shah’s house in Chhaor Union, a 570-metre road from Khatipur Bishar’s house to Shukandighi, and a 300-metre road from Baragram Shahpara paved road to Shamsul’s house in Ghatnagar Union.

The projects are being implemented under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief through the Upazila Disaster Management Department to improve the durability of rural earthen roads. The total project cost is Tk 12.683 million.

Among those present at the inauguration were Porsha UNO Rakibul Islam, Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman, Project Implementation Officer Mahmudul Haque Titu, BNP General Secretary Sadequl Islam, former Senior Vice President Taufiqur Rahman Shah and local BNP leaders.

Later, MP Mostafizur Rahman distributed financial assistance among several sick and underprivileged people at a programme organised by the Department of Social Services in Dupur.
