Police special operation in Faridpur and arrested 8 Snatcher

The police have launched a special operation against snatchers in Faridpur due to a sudden increase in snatching. During this, 8 robbers were arrested.

The arrested snatchers were sent to the Faridpur court on Saturday (October 25) afternoon.

Earlier, the police conducted this operation in different neighborhoods of Faridpur city at different times of the day and night on Friday (October 24).

The arrested snatchers are Sagar Basu (25), son of Samar Basu of Malanga area of Kanaipur in Faridpur Sadar Upazila, Takbir Bepari (20), son of Hannan Bepari of Lalon Nagar slum area of the city, Sohan Sheikh (22) and Yamin Sheikh (19), sons of Lutfar Sheikh of the same slum area, and Md. Abedin Tara, son of Joynal Abedin Tara of Lakshipur area of the city. Rabbi (30), Mukul Sheikh (36), son of Iman Ali of Gopinathpur area of Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore, Sohel Mia (37), son of Md. Rakib of Habeli Gopalpur area, and Md. Rafiq (19), son of Babul Haque of Chapra Masjid area.

In addition, another person named Mir Shakhawat Hossain was arrested in another case.

Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Ajmir Hossain confirmed the arrest.

He said, 'Anti-snatcher operations were conducted in different areas of the city at different times of the day and night on Friday. During this time, 8 snatchers were arrested. The police will continue this operation to eradicate snatching.'
