2 Killed 10 Injured in Pabna Bus Collision

Two people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in the Sholabaria area of the Pabna-Dhaka highway on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred near Sholabaria Bridge under Ataikula Police Station in Santhia Upazila around 7:15 AM.

Mustafizar Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhpur Highway Police Station, confirmed that a Dhaka-bound ‘Shahjadpur Travels’ bus collided with a ‘Maasranga Paribahan’ bus coming from the opposite direction.

One victim died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries after being rushed to Pabna General Hospital. While the identities of the deceased have not been fully confirmed, police noted that one was the driver of Shahjadpur Travels and the other was a helper for Maasranga Paribahan.

Locals and police rescued the injured and transported them to various hospitals. According to hospital sources, seven to eight of the injured remain in critical condition.
