Jungle Salimpur RAB Member Murder: Fourth Suspect Arrested

Police have arrested another key suspect in the murder of a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officer in the Jungle Salimpur area of Sitakunda. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to four.

The suspect, identified as Kala Bachchu (alias Kalu), was apprehended during a late-night raid on Friday (January 23) in the Chinnamul area. Kalu is listed as the 19th accused in the formal murder case.

Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahinul Islam confirmed the arrest. Following a secret tip-off regarding Kalu's whereabouts in Society No. 1 of Jungle Salimpur, a police team conducted the raid. Sensing the police presence, Kalu attempted to flee but was caught after a brief chase.

The murder case was filed following the death of RAB Deputy Assistant Director Md. Motaleb Hossain Bhuiyan, who was killed during a previous operation in the hilly terrain of Jungle Salimpur.

The primary case names 29 individuals, including notorious local figures Md. Yasin and Nurul Haque Bhandari. Police and elite forces have intensified their presence in the area to apprehend the remaining 25 accused suspects
