Musician Pabna Awami League leader Prolay Chaki Arrested

Pabna DB Police Officer-in-Charge Rashidul Islam confirmed the arrest of Pabna District Awami League cultural secretary Prolay Chaki.

Musician, cultural organizer and banned activities Pabna District Awami League cultural secretary Prolay Chaki has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB).

He was arrested from his house in the Pathar Tala area of the city on Tuesday morning. Pabna DB Police Officer-in-Charge Rashidul Islam confirmed the arrest.

Prolay Chaki's son, popular music director Sunny Chaki, said that a team of DB police came to the house around 8 am to search for his father. Then, without any case or warrant, they arrested his father and took him to the DB office. When asked about the reason for the arrest, they did not give any specific information but said that he was being taken on a devil hunt operation.

Sunny also said that his father never abused political power. There is no case against him. He remained at home even after the government fell. He is seriously ill physically. He suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and corneal disease. He is being harassed unnecessarily.

Pabna DB Police Officer-in-Charge Rashidul Islam said that Prolay Chaki has been arrested as part of a nationwide devil hunt operation. Further legal action will be taken against him after interrogation.

It is known that Prolay Chaki is a popular singer and music director of the 90s. He sang songs on popular BTV programs including Prolay Chaki and Malay Chaki Dui Bhai etc.
