


A fire break out on the signboard of the Miyapur Grameen Bank located in the Khetupara branch of Santhia upazila in Pabna. This incident occurred around 1 am on Monday, November 24.
Reports indicate that the act of Arson attack on Grameen Bank branches by in various regions of the country has culminated in the burning of a branch in Santhia, Pabna. On Monday, signboard suffered partial damage due to the fire. A video circulating on social media shows the perpetrators first applying petrol to the signboard, followed by setting it ablaze.
Anisur Rahman, the officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station, verified the occurrence of the fire at the Grameen Bank, stating, "We have conducted an inspection of the site after receiving reports of the fire. A case will be filed at the police station regarding this matter."
Sumi Khatun, the branch manager of Miyapur Grameen Bank at Khetupara, reported that vandals had set fire to the bank's signboard during the night. The signboard has been destroyed. There is growing concern among the residents of Ela.
