Dua Lipa is set to return to the big screen with a role in Peaked, an upcoming comedy film backed by A24 and directed by Molly Gordon.
Production is scheduled to begin in April 2026, although an official release date has yet to be announced.
The film follows two former high school stars as they reunite a decade later and attempt to relive their “glory days,” offering a mix of comedy and reflective storytelling. While details about Lipa’s character remain undisclosed, her casting has already generated strong interest among fans and industry observers.
Lipa will appear alongside a diverse ensemble cast that includes Connor Storrie, Emma Mackey, Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, and Amy Sedaris, among others. The screenplay is written by Allie Levitan, with production led by David Hinojosa, Zach Nutman, and Gordon.
This project marks Lipa’s continued expansion into acting. She previously appeared in Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, and starred in the 2024 spy thriller Argylle. Beyond film, she has also hosted and appeared on Saturday Night Live.
Her move into Peaked comes after an active music year, including her Radical Optimism tour, where she performed alongside artists such as Charli XCX and Ben Gibbard. Known for blending music, media, and cultural projects, Lipa has also built a presence through her podcast and book platform, further broadening her creative portfolio.
The announcement has sparked widespread excitement online, with fans viewing the role as a significant step beyond cameo appearances. Industry analysts suggest that Peaked, with its strong ensemble cast and distinctive indie studio backing, could position Lipa more firmly within the acting space if the film resonates with audiences.
