The wait for Shah Rukh Khan’s next cinematic spectacle is nearly over. The Bollywood superstar has officially announced that his highly anticipated action-thriller, King, will hit theaters worldwide on December 24, 2026.

Director Siddharth Anand revealed the date via a gritty teaser video featuring Khan in a rugged new avatar. The clip, which quickly went viral, shows the actor in a high-octane role that marks his second collaboration with Anand following the record-breaking success of Pathaan. A Star-Studded Return King is one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema, boasting an ensemble cast that includes: • Suhana Khan: Marking her highly anticipated theatrical debut. • Abhishek Bachchan: Playing a powerful lead antagonist. • Deepika Padukone: Reuniting with Khan for a pivotal role. • Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, and Arshad Warsi: Rounding out the veteran supporting cast. Why This Release Matters After a historic 2023 with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki, Khan took a brief hiatus from the big screen. King is positioned as the definitive year-end blockbuster for 2026. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film is reportedly a sleek, "Léon: The Professional"-style action drama. The screenplay is a collaborative effort by top industry names including Sujoy Ghosh and Abbas Tyrewala, ensuring a blend of emotional depth and stylized violence. The announcement has already sparked a frenzy on social media, with industry peers like Karan Johar noting that the reveal "took over the internet" within minutes.
