


The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in domestic gold prices, citing a decline in the local cost of pure gold.
Effective from 10:00 AM on July 14, 2026, the price of premium 22-carat gold has been lowered by Tk2,158, bringing the new price to Tk219,808 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Under the revised pricing structure, the new rates per bhori are as follows:
22-carat gold: Tk219,808
21-carat gold: Tk209,894 18-carat gold: Tk180,267
Traditional gold: Tk147,316
Important Notice for Consumers: BAJUS clarified that these retail prices already include Value Added Tax (VAT). Therefore, jewelry outlets cannot charge VAT separately from customers. However, buyers should expect additional "making charges," which will vary depending on the specific design of the jewelry purchased.
Existing rules regarding the exchange and purchase of jewelry remain unchanged, and these revised rates will be in effect at all jewelry outlets until further notice.
