


Seven people, including two who suffered serious injuries, were hurt in a violent attack during a management committee meeting at Kachubaria Government Primary School in Lohagara Municipality, Narail. Following the incident, a case was filed at the Lohagara Police Station on Saturday night.
According to case details, the incident occurred around 11:30 am on Saturday (June 6) during a meeting to form the school's new management committee, chaired by Head Teacher Mithila Saha. The gathering included local residents and prominent figures from surrounding villages.
Tensions escalated when an argument broke out between two factions over the nomination of "donor members" for the committee.
Following the dispute, a group of 10 to 12 attackers—allegedly led by retired policeman Jaber Samajdar—stormed the ongoing meeting. Armed with machetes, hockey sticks, and iron rods, the group ambushed the attendees. Other named attackers included Zahid, Naeem, Hannan, Sadhan Karmakar, Kingkar Karmakar, Bachchu, and Jahangir Samajdar.
During the clash, Sabid Sheikh (22) and Abdullah Sheikh alias Apu (28) were severely beaten. Five others, including Harun Molya, Kabir Hossain, and Dilip Samaddar, were also assaulted. Locals rescued the seriously injured victims and admitted them to the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
On Saturday night, local resident Jahangir Sheikh filed a case with the Lohagara Police Station, explicitly naming eight individuals and accusing another 10 to 12 unidentified suspects.
Lohagara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ajit Kumar Roy confirmed that officers visited the scene immediately after the incident. He stated that an investigation is currently underway and strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators.
