RAB Arrests Armed Suspect in Narail's Kalia Upazila

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested a suspected criminal and recovered an illegal firearm during a raid in Narail’s Kalia upazila on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-6 team led by Special Company Commander Major Mohammad Nazmul Islam conducted the operation in Silimpur village of Hamidpur union between noon and 6:00 pm on July 8.

During the raid, forces detained Khabir Molla, son of Kausar Molla. Upon searching the suspect, RAB recovered a one-shooter gun, two rounds of ammunition, and several locally made weapons.

RAB officials stated they are preparing to file a case against the suspect under the Arms Act and that further legal proceedings are underway.

Kalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Idris Ali verified the incident, noting that the suspect had not yet been formally transferred to police custody. "Standard legal procedures will proceed as soon as RAB hands him over to the station," the OC confirmed.
