


A husband and wife riding a motorcycle were killed in a head-on collision with a brick truck in Madhukhali, Faridpur, on Friday afternoon (May 1). The accident occurred in the Parikshitpur area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The deceased are Tamim Mia, 20, and his wife Shimla Khatun, 19. The couple lived in Ashapur village of Gajna Union, Madhukhali Upazila, and have a six-month-old child.
According to reports, Tamim Mia was traveling from his home to Faridpur to accompany his wife to a doctor. When they reached Parikshitpur, their motorcycle collided head-on with a brick truck coming from the opposite direction. Both were seriously injured.
Locals immediately took them to the Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex. Tamim Mia was declared dead on arrival, and Shimla Khatun died on the way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Former Ghazna Union Parishad Chairman Golam Kibria confirmed the incident, expressing grief over the deaths. “Both were young and had a six-month-old son. Such accidents are heartbreaking and unacceptable,” he said.
This tragic accident has left the local community in deep mourning.
