Human Chain in Pabna Demands Justice for Pregnant Woman’s Death

A human chain was formed in Pabna on Saturday to protest the death of Manisha Mondal, a three-month pregnant woman allegedly tortured to death by her husband. Participants gathered on Abdul Hamid Road in front of the Pabna Press Club at 3:00 PM to demand the immediate punishment of those responsible.

The protest, organized by various local groups and joined by the victim's relatives, highlighted the brutal nature of the incident. Speakers alleged that Manisha was killed following "barbaric" torture by her husband, Sabuj Mondal. They called for exemplary legal action against Sabuj—reportedly a drug addict—as well as his parents, Subal Mondal and his wife, for their alleged involvement.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning (April 1) in Katajola village, Chatmohar Upazila. Following the allegations, police detained Sabuj Mondal for questioning.
