


The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) held its monthly crime review meeting for February on Thursday (March 12) at the CMP headquarters conference room in Dampara. The meeting was chaired by CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, BPM.
During the meeting, the overall law and order situation in the city was reviewed and several directives were issued to strengthen policing activities.
The Commissioner instructed all police stations and the Metropolitan Detective Division to carry out their duties with professionalism to maintain peace and order in the city. He emphasized maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, theft, robbery and extortion.
Field-level officers were also directed to intensify efforts to prevent the growing concern of juvenile gang activities. The Commissioner stressed the need to ensure effective police services by quickly resolving registered murder cases and other complaints.
He further instructed officers to reduce the backlog of cases and speed up the execution of arrest warrants.
Regarding traffic management, the Commissioner directed strict action against unfit and unauthorized vehicles. The CMP Traffic Department was instructed to take necessary steps to restore discipline on city roads and ensure smoother traffic movement.
Senior CMP officials attended the meeting, including Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) and Additional In-charge (Administration and Finance) Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Muhammad Faisal Ahmed, and Deputy Police Commissioner (Sadar) Md Ferdous Ali Chowdhury.
Deputy Police Commissioners Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan, Md Habibur Rahman Prang, Sheikh Shariful Islam and Nesar Uddin Ahmed, along with other senior officers, were also present.
