Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) held an orientation program on Sunday for its newly admitted 'Winter 2025' term graduate students. The batch includes 249 MS and 5 PhD students, including researchers from Nigeria and graduates from top national universities.

The ceremony, held at the Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium, was graced by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. GKM Mostafizur Rahman as the chief guest. He welcomed the researchers, noting that the university’s top ranking among public and private institutions in Bangladesh places a high responsibility on its students.

"The results of your research will not only enrich this university but contribute significantly to the sustainable development of our agricultural sector," the Vice-Chancellor stated, urging students to dedicate their knowledge to human welfare.

University Registrar Md. Abdullah Mridha opened the session by highlighting the institution's academic heritage and international research milestones. During a lively introductory session, newcomers—including MS student Umana Hossain Dolna and PhD students Md. Rashidul Islam and Bedi Ibrahim—shared their research goals and expectations.

Key administrative guidance was provided by Proctor Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam on campus discipline, and Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Hall Provost Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Hasan on residential rules. Professor Dr. Md. Tofazzal Islam, Dean of Graduate Studies, concluded the technical briefing with a detailed overview of research policies and higher education structures.

The program, presided over by Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Raihan, was attended by the Pro-VC, Treasurer, deans, and faculty members.
