Strike in Sariakandi to demand implementation of pay scale

A protest march and human chain program has been held in Sariakandi, Bogra under the banner of "Bangladesh Government Employees Demands Unity Council" to demand the implementation of the national pay scale like the rest of the country.

On Thursday (February 2), from 9 am to 11 am, a program was organized in front of the main gate of the Upazila Parishad in coordination with all government, private, semi-government, autonomous organizations.

At this time, S.M. Selim Reza, Md. Shariful Islam, Md. Rezaul Karim, Md. Sumon Mia, Md. Sihab Al Morshed, Mohammad Ali, Md. Nazrul Islam, Md. Rubel Mia, Md. Sekendar Ali spoke under the banner of Bangladesh Government Employees Unity Council.

The speakers said in their speeches, 'We cannot buy any good food from the market. Because the money we get as salary we have to run our family expenses all month. No one is looking after our family. No one understands how we are living a subhuman life. The prices of daily necessities are constantly increasing, but our salaries and allowances are not increasing.

The speakers also said that they demanded the implementation of the ninth national pay scale within this month. It is important to implement this demand quickly. Otherwise, they warned of strict programs. Third and fourth class employees of all departments of the upazila participated in the human chain.
