The Bollywood blockbuster franchise Don is back in the headlines with a massive update. After years of uncertainty, reports suggest Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) may reclaim his iconic role as the world’s "most wanted" criminal—but with a strategic condition.

According to multiple Indian media reports, including News18, SRK is open to returning to the franchise provided that Atlee Kumar, the director of his recent mega-hit Jawan, is brought on board for Don 3. The superstar reportedly believes Atlee’s flair for large-scale action and mass appeal is essential to elevating the film for a new generation

While Ranveer was initially announced as the new lead, he has reportedly stepped back. Sources suggest he is prioritizing other projects like Pralay and avoiding being typecast in gangster roles following his success in Dhurandhar.

Producer Farhan Akhtar is yet to finalize a leading lady. While Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon were previously considered, Farhan is now reportedly eyeing Deepika Padukone for her proven action credentials. However, Deepika’s current busy schedule and remuneration have kept any official announcement on hold.

The Don legacy began in 1978 with Amitabh Bachchan, before SRK modernized the character in 2006 and 2011. While Farhan Akhtar has not yet officially responded to SRK’s condition regarding Atlee, the possibility of an SRK-Atlee-Farhan collaboration has sparked immense excitement across social media.

For now, Don 3 remains in a state of high-profile flux as fans wait to see if the "King" will truly return to his throne.
