Low-cost ultrasonogram services have finally resumed at the Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday after a long shutdown, bringing major relief to the local population.
Because the key diagnostic machine was out of order for months, patients particularly pregnant women, children and emergency cases were forced to travel long distances or pay high fees at private diagnostic centers.
"We had to spend excessive time and money outside just for a routine check-up," shared a patient at the hospital. "Having this machine working again saves us from immense financial and physical hassle."
Dr. Al Amin Sarwar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO), confirmed that the hospital is prioritizing the continuous repair and operation of medical devices. "Our priority is ensuring that basic and life-saving diagnostics remain uninterrupted and affordable for ordinary citizens," he added.
