A consultation workshop with media personnel was held in Narail on Thursday, October 9, ahead of the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025. The event, organized by the District Information Office, took place in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Chief Guest of the workshop was Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akter Jahan, while Ms. Nasima Khatun, Deputy Director (Finance & Logistics) of the Department of Public Relations, joined virtually from Dhaka. Special guests included Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdur Rashid, Upazila Directors of Local Government, and Adv. S.M. Abdul Haque, President of Narail Press Club. The workshop was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Upazila Secretary Lincoln Biswas, and attended by journalists from various print and electronic media, district information officers, and officials from related departments.
The session focused on strategies for the successful implementation of the campaign, which will run from October 12 to November 13, and stressed the role of journalists in preventing the spread of rumors or misleading news about the vaccination. Through this campaign, approximately 213,715 children aged 9 months to under 15 years in Narail district will be covered, including 142,000 school-going children.
Earlier in the morning, a press conference was held at the Civil Surgeon’s Office under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdur Rashid, attended by residential medical officer Dr. Ismail Hossain Bappi, EPI officer Md. Habibur Rahman, and local journalists. The conference provided details on the campaign plan and activities to ensure its smooth execution
